The Israeli army command said "The responsibility falls to us to defend the independence and wellbeing of our nation and the safety of her inhabitants. The fighting in the north joins the fighting in Judea, Samaria, and the region of Gaza, and is liable to continue for a long time."
Hizbullah major missile attacks will target Tel Aviv soon, but residents will be given one hour's notice to flee, a Palestinian news agency said yesterday.
The Palestinian Authority-based news agency Ma'an said Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah would give the tip-off when Israeli's should start evacuating.
"Hassan Nasrallah will address the people of Tel Aviv and warn them to evacuate the city within one hour," the Ma'an report said.
"As soon as the delay ends, hundreds of heavy missiles will start landing in the city, which has been divided into squares in order to let damage reach every inch of the city.
"An estimated 500 missiles are expected to land in Tel Aviv in a short period of time."
Yesterday, Hizbullah, the military branch of Lebanese resistance forces, issued a statement to declare that they have launched rocket attacks against Israel's main air base in the northern part of the occupied Palestine.
The air base which was targeted by Hizbullah's forces is located in the northern part of occupied Palestine (50 kilometers away from Lebanese border), said the statement.
Israel said today that one of its soldiers was injured this morning during exchanges of fire.
Meantime The Lebanese Daily Star noted Israel trying to open a 60 kilometer with Hizbullah, and has suffered the loss of two tanks in confrontation with Hizbullah.
The Daily Star noted that the Israeli aggression on Lebanon has so far caused more than 325 civilians being killed, "1,000 civilians wounded and over 500,000 displaced."
Israeli officials have already backtracked from conditions they had set to stop their aggression, amid wide and strong condemnation from officials and world public opinion.
Israel repeatedly violates Lebanon's sovereignty, air and sea, on a near daily basis, for which it has been asked repeatedly by the UN to stop doing so. Israel, shows no regard for international law, attacking Palestinian and Lebanese civilians and infrastructure. It does so knowing it has the best weapons given to it from the United States, and under the protection of the US veto at the UN Security Council where the US shoots down resolutions against Israel. Many international organizations have declared Israel to be in violation of International Humanitarian Law, Geneva Convention, organizations such as the Red Cross, Amnesty international, and others. The most recent public declaration that Israel has broken the Geneva Convention came most recently ago from the neutral country of Switzerland. The UN Human Rights Council official today said a mission needs to be sent to Gaza to investigate possibility of "war crimes" having been committed by Israel.
Israel likes to portray itself to the world as a victim. Some seems to have been convinced of this portrayal.
Despite its superior military might, Hizbullah dealt Israel a major defeat and was able to eject Israel from Lebanon after Israel invaded and occupied Lebanon several years ago.
Talking to CNN today, former US defense secretary William Cohen noted about Israel's acts saying Israel is going to loose whether the results come "heads or tails".
Egypt's president Mubarak said Israel had made a very serious mistake by attacking Lebanon and will loose because of it.
