New Islamic Court announced in Mogadishu

The power of the Islamists in Somalia is increasing day by day after gaining support and chances to extend dominance through out the country.

The first Islamic Court for the southern D&M clans has been announced in the Capital today making the largest Islamists influence step against Baidoa where the government is based.

Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed, chairman of the Islamic Courts Union in Mogadishu formally announced this court which is likely to operate around southwestern regions of the Capital.


“The difficulty that engulfed our people and country is over now, because all of us took the Holly Koran as principle” Sheik Sharif said.

He also revealed for the first time the man who spearheaded the Islamists’ recent uprising against the warlords in the capital.

“We want to tell you that recent fighting in Mogadishu has been commanded by Sheik Mutar Robow(Abu Mansoor)” he said adding that all weapons belonged to Hawiye warlords handed over Abu Mansoor.

“We need D&M clans in Bay and Bakool Regions to hand their arms over the Islamic Courts” he added.

The announcement of the Court belongint to people from Bay and Bakol regions came amid tensions between the Islamic Courts and Baidoa based Somalia government.

“We need all Somalis to support the Holy Koran and practicing of Islamic Sharia Law all over the country” he told gathering.

“We need practicing Islam Sharia Law and the Holy Koran to reach every inch of the world particularly Somalia this time” he added.

Sheik Sharif also mentioned that Islamists main goal is to take the Holy Koran to every where in the Country and implement it as principle.


This announcement also comes amid challenges by the Islamists to extend power through out many parts in the country particularly southwest regions including Baidoa, the government interim seat.
