Shaukat may visit Saudi Arabia


ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz is expected to go on a three-day visit to Saudi Arabia from Monday, sources said on Friday.

This will be his first international visit as prime minister. Mr Aziz will be performing umra besides meeting dignitaries there. He will also pay a visit to the Holy Prophet Mohammad’s shrine.

The governor of Riyadh, Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Admiral (r) Abdul Aziz Mirza and other senior officials will receive the prime minister.

“Mr Aziz will also be holding meetings with Khadim-e-Harmain Al-Sharfain Shah Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz,” sources said.

The meetings will discuss international, regional and bilateral issues to cement relations between the two countries. Mr Aziz is also expected to address the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia. nni
