US former envoy for peace in the Middle East, Denis Ross, on Sunday stressed that former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin informed Washington his readiness to withdraw from the occupied Golan to the line 4th of June 1967.
In a statement to United Arab Emirates al-Khaleej newspaper published on Sunday, Ross criticized the failure of President Bush's administration to contain the Arab-Israeli conflict.
He asserted that peace can't be achieved in the region without the establishment of a Palestinian independent state, predicting that Israel will launch a strong military blow against the Palestinian resistance before withdrawing from Gaza.
