Three Palestinian police officers were killed and several others were injured on Thursday in an Israeli strike targeting a security site west of Gaza City, amid ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement and growing threats to resume the war on the Gaza Strip.
A local source said an Israeli Apache helicopter fired at least one missile at a room used by Gaza’s security services in the Ansar area west of the city, following intense low-altitude flights and widespread drone activity overhead.
The source added that the dead and wounded were transferred to Al-Shifa Medical Complex, while one injured person was taken to the Palestinian Red Crescent field hospital in central Gaza City.
Gaza’s Interior Ministry later announced that three security officers and personnel were killed in the Israeli strike on a guard post belonging to a security headquarters west of the city. A fourth officer was critically injured, along with several civilians.
Hamas condemned the strike, calling it “a repetition of scenes of genocide and daily killings against the Palestinian people” and “a complete disregard for the obligations of the ceasefire agreement.”
The Movement called on mediators and relevant parties to pressure the Israeli government to halt the offensive and comply with its commitments under the ceasefire deal, foremost among them ending attacks on Gaza.
In its daily statistical report, Gaza’s Ministry of Health said nine bodies arrived at hospitals across the Strip over the previous 24 hours, including six new victims and three who later died from their wounds, in addition to 39 injuries resulting from Israeli attacks.
The ministry stated that since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025, the death toll has reached 846 killed while 2,418 others were injured. Meanwhile, medical teams have recovered 769 bodies from the rubble of destroyed buildings.
According to ministry figures, the overall death toll from Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,628 killed and 172,520 injured.
In a related development, Azzam, the son of senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya, was announced dead Thursday morning after succumbing to injuries sustained in an Israeli strike Wednesday evening that also killed another Palestinian and wounded ten others.
The developments come as Israeli political circles increasingly discuss the possibility of resuming the war on Gaza, citing Hamas’s alleged refusal to meet demands related to disarmament and ending its control over the territory.
