WEST BANK, (PIC)
The occupied West Bank and Jerusalem witnessed a major escalation overnight and into Wednesday morning, marked by coordinated Israeli military raids and a wave of settler attacks targeting Palestinian communities, homes, and property.
Violence intensified across several areas in the northern West Bank, particularly around Nablus, following an anti-occupation shooting attack targeting an Israeli vehicle near the Za’atara checkpoint.
Israeli forces deployed heavy military reinforcements, sealed checkpoints surrounding Nablus, and assaulted several Palestinian residents. Troops also carried out raids in multiple neighborhoods and refugee camps across the city.
In the town of Beita, south of Nablus, four Palestinians were injured after settlers from a newly established outpost attacked residents and their property. According to local sources, the settlers entered the Bir Quza and Al-Hariq areas, vandalizing vehicles and damaging a home before residents confronted them. Israeli forces later entered the area and assaulted Palestinians, resulting in additional injuries. #فيديو | مستوطنون يحطمون مركبة خلال هجومهم على منطقتي الحرائق وبئر قوزا في بلدة بيتا جنوب نابلس. pic.twitter.com/uimP5aLjAF — المركز الفلسطيني للإعلام (@PalinfoAr) June 17, 2026 In nearby Burin, settlers from the Yitzhar settlement threw stones at the home of a Palestinian family, causing property damage and spreading fear among residents. Settlers also reportedly set fire to a house during an attack on the Bir al-Janab area of Qabalan, south of Nablus.
East of Tubas, settlers seized a tractor and a water tanker that were delivering water to a Palestinian family in the Atouf Plain near Tammun. Local officials said the incident came just one day after settler bulldozers destroyed water lines serving families in the same area, in what Palestinians described as a systematic effort to undermine livelihoods and access to essential resources.
In the Ramallah district, settlers reportedly set fire to a mosque in the village of Jaljulia and spray-painted racist slogans on its walls, in an attack condemned as a direct assault on a place of worship. #فيديو | مستوطنون يضرمون النار في منزل خلال هجومهم على منطقة بئر الجناب ببلدة قبلان جنوب نابلس. pic.twitter.com/zZ0q9CwxLu — المركز الفلسطيني للإعلام (@PalinfoAr) June 17, 2026 Meanwhile, Palestinian journalist Mu’tasim Saqf al-Hait, a correspondent for Quds News Network, was injured by a tear gas canister fired by Israeli forces while covering clashes that erupted after settlers attacked the village of Deir Abu Mashal northwest of Ramallah. According to local reports, Israeli forces intervened to protect the settlers, leading to confrontations with residents.
Elsewhere, Israeli forces raided the town of Silwad northeast of Ramallah, carrying out extensive searches of homes and reportedly damaging property.
Large-scale military raids were also reported in Qalqilya, where Israeli forces entered the city with military vehicles and a bulldozer, searched residential buildings, and deployed troops throughout the area. Settlers simultaneously gathered near the Kedumim junction east of the city and blocked major roads.
In Jenin, Israeli forces arrested a young Palestinian after raiding a residential building in the Zahra neighborhood. Israeli troops also fired illumination flares over the town of Faqqu’a and raided a home in the village of Beit Qad.
Additional raids took place in al-Khalil’s Fawwar refugee camp and in the town of Qaffin north of Tulkarem. In Occupied Jerusalem, clashes erupted after Israeli forces entered Beit Iksa and Qalandia refugee camp, where troops fired live ammunition and large numbers of stun grenades.
The incidents reflect a growing pattern of coordination between Israeli forces and settler groups, with attacks increasingly targeting homes, places of worship, water infrastructure, and agricultural livelihoods. The escalating violence poses a serious threat to the security and stability of Palestinian communities throughout the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.
