Qassam video documents field commander’s 50 days inside Gaza combat tunnel

The Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, released a new video as part of its documentary series Aqmar Al-Tufan, focusing on the life of field commander Ahmad Salim Al-Maghari, who was martyred late last year during clashes with Israeli occupation forces in Gaza City.

The release comes as part of the series, through which the brigades have documented the lives of commanders and fighters martyred during Israel’s continuing genocide in the Gaza Strip since late 2023.

More than 50 nights in a combat tunnel

The video opened with footage showing Al-Maghari and a group of fighters remaining inside a combat tunnel for more than 50 consecutive nights, highlighting their endurance underground during the Israeli ground incursion into the city.

According to the statement accompanying the release, Al-Maghari served as a platoon commander in the Badr Al-Kubra Battalion, affiliated with Al-Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City.

He was martyred on December 27, 2024, during direct clashes with Israeli occupation forces.

Scenes from the battlefield

Part of the video documented Al-Maghari’s direct role in guiding fighters as they targeted Israeli military vehicles and troop carriers that had advanced into the western axis of Gaza City.

The release included an audio clip of Al-Maghari addressing his fighters in motivational language, along with a field scene that the video said showed him directing a fighter during an attack on an Israeli vehicle.

“To these young men who believed in their God and answered the call of Allah and then the homeland, to you, honorable ones, belong all medals of heroism and sacrifice,” he said.

In another field clip, he was shown directing a fighter to strike a military vehicle, telling him, “Advance, do not fear, wait for it, then strike.”

From training grounds to confrontation

The release was not limited to combat footage. It also showed scenes from military training sessions in which Al-Maghari took part alongside other fighters, some of whom were later martyred in the ongoing battles in the Gaza Strip.

The clips appeared to link the phase of preparation and training with the direct battlefield confrontations later fought by those fighters.

The Aqmar Al-Tufan series

This episode is part of Aqmar Al-Tufan, a series of videos produced and released periodically by the Qassam Brigades to document the lives of field commanders and fighters martyred during the Al-Aqsa Flood battle and the continuing military confrontations in the Gaza Strip since the war began in late 2023.
