The spokesman for the armed wing of Hamas, Abu Obeida, hailed the mujahideen of Hezbollah in Lebanon, praising the heavy losses they inflicted on the Israeli occupation forces, and confirming their continuation in confronting the aggression on Lebanon, its people, and its sovereignty, considering it a right and a duty guaranteed by all laws.
Abu Obeida confirmed, in a brief statement on Friday, that the Israeli occupation is trying through the continuation of its crimes and occupation to compensate for its failure in various fields, as it also seeks to separate the resistance fronts.
He added that the occupation is trying in vain to achieve these goals, stressing that it has reaped nothing for more than two and a half years except disappointment and defeat.
For his part, the spokesman for the Hamas Movement, Hazem Qassem, praised the heroism displayed by the resistance in Lebanon in defense of its people and land in confronting the Israeli occupation.
Qassem explained, in a press statement on Friday, that this action in confronting the occupation and countering its goals confirms the impossibility of free peoples accepting the continuation of the occupation.
He stressed that stability in the region will not be achieved except with the departure of the occupation from Arab land and the cessation of its aggression against its peoples.
In a related context, the operations room of the Islamic Resistance (Hezbollah) in Lebanon confirmed earlier Friday that the Israeli occupation has not committed to any ceasefire agreement since November 27, 2024, passing through the April 16, 2026 new ceasefire understanding, reaching the outcomes of the recent Iranian-American agreement, which stated in its first item the ending of the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.
It pointed out that Israel continued its repeated violations of the ceasefire by targeting civilians and destroying residential buildings and infrastructure, as well as carrying out ground attacks and attempts to infiltrate and control areas it was unable to reach before the agreement.
For its part, the Israeli occupation army announced the killing of four soldiers, including the commander of the 52 Battalion of the Givati Brigade, during confrontations it described as “difficult and complex” with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon last night.
Reports also indicated the injury of 17 Israeli soldiers in the targeting of a military force near the town of Kfar Tibnit in southern Lebanon, alongside the killing of the four military personnel.
