11 Palestinians killed Monday as Israeli troops continue operations in Gaza

GAZA, Oct. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- A total of 11 Palestinians were killed and 20 others injured on Monday as the Israel Army continued itsmilitary operations in the northern Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

On Monday night, a Palestinian militant was killed in eastern Jabalya refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip when an Israeli army tank fired a shell at a group of militants, said the medic sand witnesses.

They said that Rami Assalleya, a 26-year-old Hamas militant, was killed and another militant from the Islamic Resistance Movement(Hamas) was seriously injured by the tank shell's shrapnel.

Earlier, a Palestinian militant was killed as he and a group of militants tried to infiltrate into the Jewish settlement of NitserHazani, west of the town of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip,Israeli Radio and Palestinians said.

The militant, who was a member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, was killed in a brief exchange of firewith the Israeli soldiers guarding the settlement.

Palestinian medics in Ramallah in the West Bank said one Palestinian was killed and an Israeli soldier was injured when anIsrael Army force raided a building and clashed with two Palestinian militants in the city.

Early Monday, seven Palestinians were killed, including six Hamas militants and a 14-year-old Palestinian girl, by Israeli troops' gunfire.

A 4-year-old Palestinian boy was killed after he was shot in the head as Israeli troops were incurring into the village of Khoza'aa,east of the southern Gaza Strip town of Kahn Younis.

The death toll for Monday hit 11, said Palestinian medics,adding that this would raise the number of Palestinians killed in the six-day-long Israeli military operations to 86.
