KIGALI, Sept. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- The Rwandan government welcomed the United States' move of deporting a genocide suspect, Deputy Prosecutor General Martin Ngoga told reporters in Kigali on Thursday.

The US federal immigration court ordered the deportation of Enos Irigaba Kagaba for allegedly engaging in the 1994 genocide inRwanda, Ngoga said.

"We support the US government's move and call upon all other countries that harbors genocide suspects to follow the suite," he said, adding that the US federal authorities said they found evidence that Kagaba had committed acts of genocide in 1994 in Rwanda.

Kagaba has been held in Immigration and Customs Enforcement Custody in Minneapolis since he tried to enter the United States in December 2001.

He is also accused of playing a key role in the 1994 genocide mainly in Kibuye province where over 50,000 Tutsi were massacred.

An estimated one million innocent Rwandans are said to have lost their lives in the genocide.
