Tanzania to host African regional soccer tourney


DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- Tanzania will play host early next year to the 32nd edition of the East and Central African Soccer Championship for clubs from 10 countries of the region.

Top clubs from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, the Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and hosts Tanzania are expectedto take part in the annual tournament, organized by the Council of East and Central African Football Associations and sponsored by Rwandan President Paul Kagame.

The tourney will be played in Dar es Salaam, commercial capitalof Tanzania.

Rwanda's APR club beat Kenya's Ulinzi on home turf this year to salt away the championship trophy named after the Rwandan president.
