A delegate led by the newly elected president of Somalia Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed has flown to the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to attend AU summit which is due to be open in Ethiopia today, government official told Shabelle radio on Sunday.
Reports from Djibouti say that the Somali president is accompanied in the trip by Nor Hassan Hussein (Nor Adde), the acting prime minister of Somali government and other top officials and the delegate is supposed to meet with the UN secretary general Ban Ki-Moon and African Union heads in Addis Ababa.
Ahmed Abdullahi, a Somali MP has confirmed the departure of the delegate leading by the Somali president Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed.
The Somali president is expected to address in the summit and will request from the African States to give his government full support.
The 12th summit of AU in Addis Ababa is being discussed the formation of the United States of Africa.
