Ready for peace talks


(SomaliNet) The interior minister of the transitional federal government and deputy prime minister Hussein Mohamed Aideed denied on Monday that he and Abdi Qeybdid, former defeated warlord left for Mudug region in central Somalia for regrouping to make counter attack on Islamists in the Somalia capital Mogadishu.

Mr. Aideed told local Shabelle radio in Mogadishu it was untrue the reports on that he was conducting a military movement in Galkayo, the capitalof Mudug region where his clan men based to try to recapture the capital.

The council of Islamic courts (CIC) claimed total control of entire the capital after they won over the last warlord of the failed US backed anti terror alliance last month.

“I and my brother Abdi Qeybdid, we stay in Mudug region for peaceful activities that is part of the reconciliation process and we don’t want to launch an attack to Mogadishu,” young Aideed, the son of later Mohamed Farah Aideed said. Adding “we have intention to attack to the capital,”

Hussein Aideed and Qeybdid were among the delegates of the Somalia president who yesterday flew to northern regions in Somalia where Mr. Aideed and Qeybdid stop their trip in Mudug region whil the president Yusuf and other members of his government continued their tour to regions of Semi-autonomous authority of Puntland.

The denial of Aideed came as widespread of rumors over their preparation of war to Somalia capital.

The militiamen loyal to Aideed and Qeybdid - both from Sa’ad sub-clan - besides those killed the latest clashes with Islamists handed over their all weapons to courts in the capital after they were defeated in the war.
