Somali MP describes the signed contract between Puntalnd and Australian company as illegal


Bosaso 10 April, 06 ( Sh.M.Network) Somali PM from regional autonomous of Puntland described the deal on exploring resources in the region signed between Puntland authority and Australian company in Bosaso town on Sunday as none existence thing.

Awad Ahmed Asharo who is member of Somali parliament in Baidoa, strongly condemned the plans by the Puntland authority to explore mineral stones and diamond in the region, dismissing the deal between president of Puntland and officials of Australian firm.

Mr. Awad rejected to explore resources in land of Somalia unless Somali parliament adopts.

He said if resources stock in the environments controlled by Puntland that would not mean to have permission to do whatever they need but they should know that these resources are national property.
He pointed out that it was something too bad for Puntland authority to claim that the deal was known by Somali president Abdulahi Yusuf Ahmed and premier Gedi but he mentioned that even regional chiefs and elders were not informed to that contract.

Information minister of Puntland Abdirahman Bukah told Shabelle Media Network the treaty signed between Puntland president and the Australian company was one admitting the company to invest the product of the resources in the regions of Puntland and now assessing the natural reserves.

He asked for Somali MPs from Puntland regions not to oppose the contract which he described it as their future it is succeeded.
