Abbas Angered by Israeli Murder of 7 Children: Zionist Enemy!

As Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul was giving messages of peace in Jerusalem, Israeli tanks killed seven children working in a strawberry field.

The children between the ages of 11 and 17 belonged to one family and some of the children were unrecognizable after the attack. The children died when a mortar attack was launched on the Nissanit Jewish settlement. Two people were injured in this attack.

Mahmoud Abbas, a candidate in the Palestinian presidential election on January 9, described Israel as the "Zionist enemy" in reaction to the incident. Abbas made a speech in Khan Yunus where he said, ''We came to you today, while we are praying for the souls of the martyrs who were killed today by the shells of the Zionist enemy in Beit Lahiya," Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert criticized Abbas' statement.
