While the debate goes on about possible US intervention in Iran, the US pressures European firms not to do business with Tehran, it is claimed.

Reuters News Agency said Washington was pressuring some big European corporations to stop commercial relations that might encourage Iran's nuclear studies. The same diplomat went on to say that the pressure has worked and these companies were preparing for a withdrawal from their relations with Tehran and did not want to put at risk commercial relations with US and counted the names of the firms such as German Siemens, French nuclear giant Areva, German steel company ThyssenKrupp and British oil giant BP to stop their relations via their government for now. Meanwhile, US new Secretary of State Condolezza Rice who talked to the French newspaper Le Figaro said the Iranian problem might be solved through diplomatic channels.
