Yemen's Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Thursday honored the famous Syrian poet Suleiman al-Issa in appreciation of his distinguished and hard efforts to enrich the Arab poetry and mobilize it with pan-Arab inclinations.
At the end of Sanaa, the Capital of Arab Culture gathering, the gesture of respect for the Syrian poet came in which al-Issa is handed Shield of Sanaa, the Capital of Arab Culture; to festive what he has offered of poetry and literature that embody the original Arab culture.
Yemei poet and writer Abdul Aziz al-Maqlih said "al-Issa owns a spirit full of giving as the sea that we inspire our poetry songs and writings from."
Yemen's Minister of Culture Khaled al-Roweishan who presented the shield talked about the good qualities of the poet clarifying the big literary significance the poet occupies as one of the pan-Arab poetry inspirations. Al-Issa thanked the admiration in a poem.
