A seminar lasted for four days in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, for 30 Muslim scholars and imams, aiming at finding ways to create an African cell that would encompass Islamic organizations and movements to handle all the population and development matters.

Many people from different countries like, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, and Nigeria, as well as the host country, Senegal, took part in this seminar.

The participants who attended the seminar took the decision of holding a continent-wide seminar to include all African nations.

They also decided to form a group that will be concerned with population and development matters.

The proposal is that this group should have its headquarters either in Dakar, Senegal or Abuja in Nigeria.

In an interview with IINA, the Coordinator of the Seminar in Senegal said that they are very proud to be playing such a great role that has been assigned to them by the UN, and that this would also bring together Muslims for the good of all.

He said in this instance Muslims are playing a positive role, despite all the animosities that surround them because of the blunders that are made by individuals here and there.
