Volunteers of America on Thursday unveiled the newly renovated Capital Park Apartments, a 316-unit affordable housing complex in northeast Columbus.
Alexandria, Va.-based Volunteers of America spent $45 million upgrading the complex, with much of the money coming from government sources such as the Housing and Urban Development Department.
The complex will cater largely to immigrants from Somalia, the group said. Columbus is home to the second-largest community of Somali immigrants in the country, outside of Minnesota.
