Abdullah Gul welcomes BRJ to Turkey

JEDDAH: Turkish President Abdullah Gul recently received Mohammed Jameel, president of Abdul Latif Jameel Group and chief job creation officer of the Bab Rizq Jameel (BRJ), at the Presidential Palace in Ankara and commended BRJ’s efforts in fighting unemployment.

“Gul had invited Jameel to Turkey to learn more about the BRJ and its innovative programs to create jobs for Saudis,� a statement issued by the BRJ said, adding that the president welcomed Bab Rizq to Turkey.

Gul also congratulated Jameel on his company’s recent acquisition of Toyota distributorship in Turkey.

Fatih Mehmet Gul, the recently appointed BRJ general manager in Turkey, explained the organization’s plans for the country. President Gul praised the BRJ programs and wished continued success and progress for its activities.

The ALJ Group recently acquired Toyota distributorship in Turkey after signing a sale and purchase agreement with Haci Omer Sabanci Holding.

The Saudi company is engaged in social work along with business in all countries it is operating.

The BRJ, an affiliate of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Services Programs (ALJCSP), has created more than 100,000 jobs for young Saudi men and women throughout the Kingdom during 2003-2009.

Job opportunities have been created through different BRJ job creation programs, including the training ending with employment program, the direct employment program, the taxi and truck ownership programs, the small project finance program, the household support program, the work from home program and the franchise program. Certain jobs in the direct employment program and the small projects finance program have been created with the support of the Human Resources Development Fund and the Saudi Credit & Saving Bank.

Labor Minister Ghazi Al-Gosaibi has commended the efforts of Jameel in creating job opportunities for Saudis and urged other Saudi businessmen to emulate his example to end the unemployment problem in the country.

“Mohammed Jameel could be described as an employment bureau considering the amount of work he is exerting in the way of creating job opportunities for Saudis,� he said in a recent statement.

“We can never solve the unemployment problem by expressing our aspirations. But we can do it through the efforts of businessmen like Mohammed Jameel,� the minister said.
